1.词形转换。一般来说，根据句子的需要将要写的单词转化成相应的形式。常见的就是动词的各种变化;代词的主格、宾格、所有格、反身代词形式;形容词和副词之间的转换;基数词和序数词的变化等等。例如：
(1)This is my ______(one) time to go abroad.Im so excited.
(2)He did his homework so ______(care) that he made few mistakes.
(3)She couldnt dress ______(her) when she was three years old.
(4)These CDs must be ______(Amy) because she loves music very much.
(5)His house is ______(build) out of used glass bottles.
第(1)小题意思是这是我的第一次出国，考的是序数词，所以填first;第(2)小题意思是做作业很仔细，修饰动词did的应该是副词，所以要用care的副词形式，那就是carefully;第(3)小题考的是dress oneself，所以用her的反身代词herself;第(4)小题考的是名词所有格，所以答案是Amys;第(5)小题的句型是被动语态，is后面接动词的过去分词，所以答案是built。
2.分析句子的含义。有些单词即使是同一个意思也会用不同的单词。例如：
(1)May I ______(借) your dictionary? Mine is at home.
(2)How long may I ______ (借) this book?
(3)Would you please ______(借) me your pen?
这三个句子都是考查借这个词，答案却是不一样的。第(1)小题的借是borrow，第(2)小题是keep，第(3)小题是lend。要掌握好
这几个词就需要平时多区分，了解用法才能保证不失分。
3.注意固定搭配。很多词的用法都是固定的，例如：
(1)She usually practice p______ the piano several hours a day.
(2)They have trouble w______ out the problems.
(3)I(过去常常)collect stamps，but now I am not interested in it any more.
(4)Mrs.Brown is always ______(对严格要求)her child in the study.
在第(1)小题中practice后面只能用动词的ing形式，弹钢琴这个词组是play the piano，所以答案是playing;第(2)小题中have
trouble doing sth.是固定用法，词组解决难题是work out the problems，所以答案是working;第(3)小题中词组过去常常是used to。
第(4)小题中词组对某人严格要求是be strict with，be动词已经给出来了，所以答案是strict with。
总之，在做词汇题的时候要做到细心、周全，把基础题的分数拿到手。
