12月1日是世界艾滋病日。艾滋病是联合国确定的当今三大国际公害之一，目前，全世界有四千多万艾滋病毒感染者，每年新感染人数高达五百多万，死亡三百多万。中国艾滋病的流行趋势处于世界第14位，在亚洲排名第二位。艾滋病病毒感染者每年以40%的速度在递增。专家预测，如果缺乏有效的控制，再过10年，艾滋病将成为中国的国家性灾难。
艾滋病目前是一种不治之症，又称后天免疫缺乏症候群，是由艾滋病毒引发的疾病。艾滋病病毒的传播途径主要包括血液、母婴遗传和两性不正当行为等。这种疾病会破坏人类的免疫系统，使人类失去抵抗疾病的能力，导致病毒、原虫、细菌、霉菌等可轻易侵入人体，引发各种疾病及发生恶性肿瘤，最后百病俱发而丧失宝贵之生命。艾滋病是死神最有力的呼唤，艾滋病是人类活着的最大的栅栏；它的入侵无法阻挡，它的力量，使免疫系统毁于一旦。它能让人毫发无伤，却能让人带着痛苦走向死亡。艾滋病可以毁掉一个人的前途与希望。篮球巨星魔术师约翰逊因艾滋病而失去光芒，南非总统曼德拉的儿子因艾滋病让父亲狼狈不堪，一代作曲大师高峰因艾滋病而不幸身亡。
艾滋病已经不仅仅是卫生问题，更是发展和安全问题。因此，关注艾滋病，可以让许多人逃离死神的魔掌。2008年的世界艾滋病日主题为全民动员，这一主题将继续通过世界艾滋病日运动的口号遏制艾滋，履行承诺加以推广。所以我们要积极传播艾滋病防治知识和防治政策，倡导积极向上的理念和文明健康的生活方式，来远离艾滋病。这里，我提几点要求：
1、树立正确的人生观、价值观、审美观，努力学习，追求进取，避免空虚无聊，正确交友，把握自己的行动，做到洁身自好，以免感染艾滋病。
2、娱乐场所是艾滋病传播的高危地带。因此，我们要养成良好的生活习惯、行为习惯，不喝酒，毒，不涉足青少年不宜进入的场所，包括歌舞厅、游戏厅、网酒吧等地方。
3、另外我们还要注意马路卫生，不到街边小店扎耳朵眼，不找街头牙医拔牙补牙，不到没有消毒措施的诊所注射等等。

To fight against Aids,we definitely need to work together,basicly, we shall realize first of all,this kind of desease is never too far from ourselves,it is eccencial for every one of us to learn about neccesary ways to prevent it from happening. People who had been infected should not never be regarded as criminals,in fact, many of them are just harmless as we are.In this case,any forms of discrimination shall be regarded as illegal.
Furthermore, we must solve the problem through global cooperation, only if we stick together,can we possibly give Aids a final strike.
